Minocin (Minocycline HCl) side effects

Side effects may include: allergic reactions, anemia, cough, decreased hearing, diarrhea, dizziness, fever, headache, joint or muscle pain, liver or kidney problems, loss of appetite, nausea, rash, ringing in your ears, shortness of breath, upset stomach, vaginal infection, vomiting

If Minocin is used with certain other drugs, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. It is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Minocin with the following: antacids containing aluminum, calcium, or magnesium; birth control pills; blood thinners (such as warfarin); certain migraine medicines; iron-containing preparations; isotretinoin; methoxyflurane; or penicillin.

Minocin can harm your unborn baby if you take it during pregnancy. Minocin can be found in your breast milk if you take it while breastfeeding. Do not breastfeed while you are taking Minocin. Tell your doctor immediately if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding.

If you miss a dose of Minocin, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and return to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take two doses at once.

Do not take Minocin if you are allergic to it, any of its ingredients, or similar antibiotics (such as tetracycline). Do not take Minocin to treat viral infections, such as the common cold.
