Vicoprofen (Hydrocodone Bitartrate/Ibuprofen)

Vicoprofen is a pain medicine that contains the narcotic painkiller hydrocodone and the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) ibuprofen. Vicoprofen is used to relieve short-term pain (generally <10 days).

Vicoprofen has abuse potential. Mental and physical dependence can occur with the use of Vicoprofen when it is used improperly. Vicoprofen can cause serious breathing problems that can become life-threatening, especially when it is used in the wrong way. Vicoprofen can cause allergic reactions or anaphylaxis (a serious and rapid allergic reaction that may result in death if not treated immediately). Stop taking Vicoprofen and tell your doctor immediately if you develop a rash, difficulty breathing, or swelling of your face, mouth, or throat. Do not use Vicoprofen right before or after a heart surgery called a coronary artery bypass graft (CABG). Vicoprofen can cause ulcers or bleeding in your stomach and intestines at any time during treatment. Stop Vicoprofen and tell your doctor immediately if you experience unexplained weight gain, swelling, shortness of breath, chest pain, weakness in one part or side of your body, slurred speech, or swelling of your face or throat.
