How to use Zithromax (Azithromycin)

Take Zithromax exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take it with or without food. To prepare the 1-gram single dose packet, empty the entire contents of the packet in 2 ounces (about 60 milliliters [mL]) of water and mix thoroughly. Drink the entire mixture immediately. Add another 2 ounces of water, mix, and drink to be sure you took all the medicine. This packet is not for use in children. If you receive Zithromax oral suspension in liquid form, it is ready to take. Shake the oral suspension well before you take it or give it to your child. Use it within 10 days.
