How to use Minocin (Minocycline HCl)

Take Minocin exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take Minocin with a full glass of fluid to wash down the medication and to reduce the risk of irritation and ulceration of your esophagus. Take it with or without food. Swallow Minocin capsules whole. Do not cut, crush, or chew them.

Please see general statement regarding dosage. Adults: The usual starting dose is 200 milligrams (mg), followed by 100 mg every 12 hours. Your doctor may prescribe a different dose based on the type and severity of your infection. Children >8 years: Your doctor will prescribe the appropriate dose for your child, based on their weight and the severity of their infection.

Do not expose yourself to excessive sunlight or artificial ultraviolet light while you are taking Minocin. Do not drive or operate machinery if you experience CNS effects while you are taking Minocin.

Store at room temperature. Protect from light, moisture, and excessive heat.
